WVU Men’s Basketball Lands Four-Star Forward Recruit

Trent MacLean, a 6-foot-9 forward, announced his commitment to West Virginia on Tuesday.

MacLean is from Southern California and plays at SoCal Academy. He is teammates with another Mountaineer commit and fellow four-star in the class of 2025, Kelvin Odih.

According to 24/7 Sports, Maclean is the No. 142 player in the class of 2025, No.15 in the state of California and No. 28 among all 2025 power forwards. His top two schools were Saint Mary’s and WVU.

MacLean was offered by West Virginia on Oct. 8 and came to campus for a visit on Nov. 3. Holding offers from other programs like Saint Marys, St. Bonaventure, Rutgers, and Arizona State.

Maclean’s play style has been described as a stretch-four. He becomes the third commit in the class of 2025, joining Odih and Braydon Hawthorne.
