Sun Belt Conference Unveils Men’s Soccer Championship Bracket

The Sun Belt Conference has released the bracket for the men’s soccer championship beginning Sunday at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium in Morgantown. 

West Virginia secured the No. 1 seed for tournament play after beating Marshall Tuesday evening and becoming the Sun Belt regular season champions. The Mountaineers have 19 conference points, with the Herd close behind at 17. 

Entering the championship with 15 conference points each, UCF is seeded at No. 3, Kentucky at No. 4, and South Carolina at No. 5. James Madison will see the sixth seed earning 12 conference points, with Old Dominion and Georgia Southern following. 

With only one win each, Coastal Carolina and Georgia State did not make the tournament. 

Neither the Mountaineers nor the Herd have suffered a conference loss this season. Marshall hopes to defeat top-ranked West Virginia to defend its title. 

The bracket is as follows:

First Round – Sunday, November 10Seeds in Parentheses

Match 1 – (1) West Virginia vs. (8) Georgia Southern, 3:00 p.m.

Match 2 – (4) Kentucky vs. (5) South Carolina, 7:00 p.m.

Match 3 – (2) Marshall vs. (7) Old Dominion, 3:00 p.m.

Match 4 – (3) UCF vs. (6) James Madison, 7:00 p.m.

Second Round – Wednesday, November 13

Match 5 – Winner Match 1 vs. Winner Match 2, 7:00 p.m.

Match 6 – Winner Match 3 vs. Winner Match 4, 7:00 p.m.

Championship – Sunday, November 17

Match 7 – Winner Match 5 vs. Winner Match 6, 1:00 p.m.
