WVU women’s basketball senior guard JJ Quinerly was ranked among the nation’s top 25 DI women’s basketball players heading into the season by ESPN at No. 25.

Her junior year, Quinerly was named the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year averaging 19.8 points per game. She played in and started all 33 games of the 2023-2024 season leading the league in steals.

Quinerly currently is on the preseason watchlist for the Naismith Women’s College Player of the Year Award and the Ann Meyers Drysdale Shooting Guard of the Year Award.

Being her last year at WVU, Quinerly is looking to continue her career in basketball.

“I think I did some great things and I can’t wait to keep it going and then move on to that next level and hopefully play in the WNBA,” Quinerly said in an October press conference.

The No. 16 Mountaineers will host their season opener Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. against Towson.
