Harrison makes 20-player watch list for top point guard award

The Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame named its watch list for the Nancy Lieberman Award on Monday, and WVU’s Jordan Harrison made the cut.

Alongside 19 other point guards, Harrison is considered a top contender for the Nancy Lieberman Award, which is given each season to the top point guard in Division I women’s basketball.

Harrison led WVU in minutes last season, with 32 per game, and was second in scoring with 13.5 points per game. Harrison also led the team in assists with 5.2 per game and was second in steals with 2.9 per game.

Iowa’s Caitlin Clark won the award in each of the last three seasons before being selected first overall in the 2024 WNBA Draft. Senior Villanova transfer Lucy Olsen represents the Hawkeyes on the watch list this season.

Harrison and the Mountaineers kick off their season at home on Tuesday, Nov. 5 in Morgantown. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. at the WVU Coliseum.
