JMU, WVU Ends in Draw

The WVU men’s soccer team traveled to take on James Madison Monday night resulting in a 2-2 draw.

The game got off to a slow start, ending in a scoreless tie. The Mountaineer’s offense was able to produce six first-half shots to JMU’s two. The Mountaineers had five of their six shots on goal.

The scoring started in the 53rd minute when Kevin Larsson’s goal gave JMU a 1-0 lead.

WVU tied the game at one in the 70th minute with a goal by Marcus Caldeiria, his eighth of the season.

WVU would take the lead 12 minutes later, in the 82nd minute, courtesy of Freshman Issac Scheer, who scored his third goal on the season.

The Mountaineers would only hold the lead until the 87th minute when JMU tied the game at two with a goal by Kevin Larsson, his second of the night.

The Mountaineers record goes to a 10-1-4 record and a 5-0-2 record in conference play.

They will look to get back on track on Thursday, Oct. 31, when they play at home against Coastal Carolina at 7 p.m. EST.
