West Virginia Women’s Soccer Ranks No. 23 in RPI

With the postseason on the horizon, West Virginia women’s soccer is moving up at the right time.

The Mountaineers on Thursday checked in at No. 23 in the RPI (Rating Percentage Index), and as of Friday, they were No. 20 in the RPI rankings.

The Mountaineers have an overall record of 11-4-2 (7-2-1 in Big 12). WVU will hit the road and take on Houston in conference play tonight at 8 p.m.

Friday’s game is the last of the regular season for the Mountaineers who will then compete in the Big 12 Championship Tournament. West Virginia is currently third in the Big 12 with 22 points, behind TCU and Texas Tech who each have 26 points in the standings.

WVU is one of five Big 12 teams ranked inside the top 40 of the RPI, and WVU’s current ranking is the second-best in the Big 12.
