Following a win on the road last weekend, WVU lost to ranked Iowa State on Saturday night.
Redshirt junior tight end Treylan Davis shared his thoughts on how the team played this weekend and their plan for the future.
“We didn’t execute it to the fullest of our ability. Minor things turn into bigger things later on,” Davis said.
Being a versatile player, Davis can be seen in different roles on the field. While being the point of attack may be his strong suit, he shared that seeing the ball can be exciting. He acknowledged that there are often players with more athletic ability than him. By being self-aware and focusing on his strengths, other players are able to rely on him on the field.
“I would say I’ve always strived to be a physical player on the field,” Davis said.
Going forward, he gave insight into West Virginia’s mentality and how they react to a tough defeat.
“We expect more of ourselves in the future and I don’t think any of us are meant to sit and settle with what happened Saturday,” Davis said.
With another conference game approaching, WVU hopes to improve their record. Davis described Kansas State as “strong in their roles, consistent, and well-coached” but believes the Mountaineers are, too.
West Virginia hosts Kansas State in another night game Saturday at 7:30n EST. The game will be televised on FOX.
