Following a 28-16 loss to No. 11 Iowa State on Saturday, former Mountaineer and popular sports media personality Pat McAfee tweeted about the final result.
“West Virginia losing on Coal Rush night is quite a disappointment [.] Congrats to Iowa State on a massive win in Morgantown… A lot of season left,” McAfee wrote.
The Mountaineers are now .500 on the season with a record of 3-3 (2-1 in Big 12). All of West Virginia’s losses have come against opponents who are undefeated through seven weeks.
WVU will look to bounce back next week with another night game at home against Kansas State.
