Mountaineers in the NFL: A Pair of Former Mountaineers Seal the Deal for Their Teams

Week 5 of the NFL season is officially in the books, lets take a look around the league at some former Mountaineers.

Beanie Bishop

The Steelers’ rookie cornerback had a rough game Sunday night with a couple of costly penalties late in the game against the Dallas Cowboys. Beanie Bishop had three solo tackles and a pass defended in Sunday night’s 20-17 loss to the Dallas Cowboys. The Steelers will look to get back on track Sunday in Las Vegas to take on the Raiders at 4:05 pm.

Bryce Ford-Wheaton

New York Giants wide receiver Bryce Ford-Wheaton scored his first NFL touchdown in a 29-20 win over the Seattle Seahawks. Bryce Ford-Wheaton recovered a blocked 47-yard field goal and returned it for a touchdown to put the Giants in position to win the game with less than one minute left. The Giants will look to improve back to .500 at home against the Cincinnati Bengals at 8:20 pm on Sunday Night football.

Dante Stills

The Arizona Cardinals had a thrilling comeback win against the San Fransisco 49ers on Sunday overcoming a 23-10 deficit to win 24-23. Defensive lineman Dante Stills had five total tackles with one solo tackle. The Arizona Cardinals will look to improve to 3-3 on the road against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday at 1 p.m..

Kyzir White

In the Arizona Cardinals’ thrilling win on Sunday, linebacker Kyzir White recorded five total tackles and the game-sealing interception with one minute left. That was Kyzir Whites’s first interception of the season.

David Long Jr

Miami Dolphins picked up their second win of the season on Sunday, 15-10, on the road against the New England Patriots. Linebacker David Long Jr recorded four total tackles in the win. The Miami Dolphins will have a much-needed bye week next week.

Geno Smith

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith completed 28 of 40 pass attempts for 284 yards with a touchdown on Sunday in a 29-20 loss at home to the New York Giants. Geno Smith is now the NFL leader in passing yards with 1466 yards. The Seahawks will host the San Fransisco 49ers on Thursday night football at 8:20 pm.

Rasul Douglas

Buffalo Bills cornerback recorded four solo tackles in the Bills’ 23-20 loss to the Houston Texans on Sunday. The Buffalo Bills will look to get back on track after dropping two straight Monday night on the road against the New York Jets at 8:25 pm.

Zach Frazier

Rookie center Zach Frazier is continuing his strong start to the season. Once again, in Week 5, Frazier allowed 0 quarterback pressures for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Frazier is looking like a future star in the league; he was one of two rookies to not allow pressure in Week 5. The Pittsburgh Steelers took a 20-17 loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night football. They will look to bounce back Sunday in Las Vegas to take on the Raiders at 4:05 pm.
