Former West Virginia Assistant Coach Fired by Big Ten Program

Former West Virginia assistant coach, offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Graham Harrell has been relieved of his duties at Purdue.

Harrell coached at WVU in the 2022 season. Before his brief stint in Morgantown, he was an offensive coordinator at North Texas and USC.

The former Texas Tech, CFL, and NFL quarterback was hired by Purdue in December 2022 as their offensive coordinator and qbs coach. After a 1-3 start, during which Purdue averaged under 13 points a game against Power Four teams, Purdue let Harrell go.

According to ESPN’s FPI (Football Power Index), Purdue has the worst offensive efficiency in the Big Ten at 18.5, which ranks them 123 out of all 134 FBS teams.
