NCAA men’s basketball reporter and analyst listed West Virginia’s Tucker DeVries as the No. 4 best senior in college basketball.
DeVries transferred to WVU after his dad, Darian, was hired as the head coach for the Mountaineers. The 6-foot-7 forward/guard built an extensive resume at Drake University before coming to Morgantown.
He was the back-to-back Missouri Conference Player of the Year in his sophomore and junior years. This past season, DeVries averaged 21.6 points, 6.7 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 1.6 steals per game, being the only NCAA Division I men’s basketball player to average at least 20.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 1.5 steals per game in 2023-2024.
Coming out of high school, DeVries was a four-star prospect, holding offers from many top programs, but he instead chose to play for his dad in Des Moines. On3 ranked him as the No. 4 best transfer. DeVries’ career high came against UIC on Feb. 28, where he had 39 points and also finished with 13 rebounds, seven assists, four steals and a block.
