NFL and Pitt great Darelle Revis made a bold prediction about WVU sophomore wide receiver Rodney Gallagher III.
In a tweet about Gallagher and his game-winning touchdown catch against Kansas, Revis replied, “He will soon play on [Sundays].” The legendary cornerback was referring to Gallagher’s pro potential in the NFL. Revis and Gallagher both grew up in Southwest Pennsylvania, outside of Pittsburgh.
Revis was a seven-time pro-bowler, four-time All-Pro, Super Bowl XLIX champion and NFL Hall of Fame Inductee in 2023. He was also recently inducted into Pitt Athletics Hall of Fame.
Gallagher saw instant game action as a freshman last season but has seen more production per game so far this season, logging snaps on offense and defense. The touchdown catch was the first of his career, and he set a career-high in reception yards with 41.
