Kansas vs. West Virginia Suspended in Fourth Quarter

The week four matchup between Kansas and West Virginia has been suspended in the fourth quarter due to severe weather in the area.

Kansas currently leads 21-17 with 10:43 left to go in the game. The Mountaineers were set to receive a punt from the Jayhawks l before the delay was announced.

There was also a delay in West Virginia’s week one matchup with Penn State, which lasted two hours and 18 minutes. Each lightning strike resets the delay for 30 additional minutes.

2:53 p.m. EST — There is expected to be at least 90 minutes of thunderstorms.

3:30 p.m. — No new updates.

4:10 p.m. — The 30-minute timer will expire at 4:29 p.m. if there are no more lightning strikes. Warmups will be 15 minutes, and play will resume at 4:44 p.m.

4:29 p.m. — The timer has expired. Teams are now warming up. Gates have reopened.

4:36 p.m. — The game will resume on ESPN News and ESPN+.

The delay lasted one hour and 58 minutes, from 2:46 p.m. to 4:44 p.m..
