What a Computer Rating System Projects for WVU in Conference Play

West Virginia is 1-2 as they head into nine games of conference play for the 2024 season.

The Mountaineers struggled to pull out the win in games against power-four opponents Penn State and Pittsburgh. Massey Ratings, a computer rating system developed by American statistician Kenneth Massey, projects many tossups in West Virginia’s remaining games.

Massey Ratings ultimately ranks the Mountaineers No. 53 in the Nation and predicts they will finish with a .500 record, a winning record in Big 12 play. The following is a projected win percentage and score for each of their remaining games.
