As first reported by 247Sports, West Virginia redshirt defensive lineman Zachariah Keith has medically retired and is no longer on the active roster.
Keith was a part of WVU’s 2023 recruiting class. The 6-foot-5 native of Douglasville, Georgia suffered an injury last season that limited his ability to see the field. He practiced in the spring and into fall camp but had a setback that led him to medically retire.
Keith was a three-star recruit who received power-four offers from Georgia Tech, Maryland, Michigan State, Tennessee, UCF, and Vanderbilt, in addition to West Virginia. He is the third Mountaineer to medically retire in the past few months, alongside Jairo Faverus and Maurice Hamilton.
