Pitt and West Virginia will play their 107th all-time game for their storied rivalry in the 2024 Backyard Brawl on Saturday.
The Panthers are 2-0, coming from victories against Cincinnati and Kent State. WVU is 1-1 after falling to Penn State in
Massey Ratings, a computer rating system developed by American statistician Kenneth Massey, projects the Mountaineers to have the upper hand on the road this season. The system gives WVU a 58% likelihood of winning and predicts the final score to be 30-27 in West Virginia’s advantage.
Since returning in 2022, Pitt and WVU have split Brawls over the previous two seasons, with each team picking up a victory at home. Saturday’s kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. EST, and it will be televised on ESPN2.
