West Virginia punter Oliver Straw kicked one successful punt against Albany on Saturday, and in doing so, he marked another donation for a good cause.
Straw announced on X last Thursday that he would be partnering with Champsraise to raise money for a teen in Clarksburg, West Virginia this season. Landen Jaggie, who has been fighting cancer since November 2022, will earn donations for every punt Straw makes inside the opponents’ 20-yard line this season.
Since beginning the campaign, Straw has now kicked three successful punts toward the cause, making two of his four punts inside the 20 against Penn State in Week 1 and succeeding on his only punt against Albany on Saturday.
Straw’s campaign, which accepts outside pledges and donations from the community, has amassed $1059.51 out of a $3000 goal to assist Landen with travel costs and medical expenses for his treatment. Landen’s chemotherapy treatments are ongoing at hospitals in West Virginia and Ohio.
