West Virginia volleyball dropped their second straight match at home against North Dakota on Sunday.
The Mountaineers started the first set down 7-0 and went on a 4 unanswered point run before ultimately losing the set 25-20.
Looking to bounce back in the second set, West Virginia started down 8-2. They would eventually be able to knot the score at 17 before Cassidy Tanton scored three consecutive points and the Mountaineers were able to steal the second set 25-20.
West Virginia would go on to win the third set before dropping the final two.
In a 3-2 loss to North Dakota redshirt Junior Cassidy Tanton recorded a team-high 22 kills. 22 kills is the most Cassidy has recorded in a game this far in her Mountaineer career.
The Mountaineers now fall to 3-3 this season before they head to the Liberty Tournament, on September 13-15th. where they will play two games on Friday against Virginia at 10 am and then will match up with UTSA at 4. They will cap off the weekend with a match against Liberty at 1 pm EST, on September 15th. The final match against Liberty will be streamed on ESPN+.
