MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (Aug. 13, 2024) –West Virginia University men’s soccer junior Marcus Caldeira has been named a forward to watch by United Soccer Coaches.
Caldeira has played in 42 games in two seasons with the Mountaineers with 38 starts. He has scored 17 goals and dished out seven assists.
In 2023, Caldeira was named a First Team All-American by College Soccer News as well as a Second Team All-American by United Soccer Coaches after scoring 12 goals to help the Mountaineers to their first NCAA College Cup appearance.
The Mississauga, Ontario native was also named to the All-Sun Belt First Team last season as well as the Academic All-America First Team by College Sports Communicators. After the season, Caldeira was selected 20th overall by Minnesota United FC in the MLS SuperDraft.
Caldeira and the Mountaineers will kick off the 2024 campaign on Thursday, Aug. 22 when they take on Purdue Fort Wayne at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium.
