Former West Virginia and current St.Louis Cardinals outfielder Victor Scott II hit his first career big league home run Tuesday.
In the bottom of the second inning in St.Louis’ game against the Tampa Bay Rays, Scott hit a two-run home run to right center to tie the game at two. Scott started the season on the Cardinals opening day roster, but was sent down to triple-a after struggling to start his major league career.
This Sunday, St.Louis recalled Scott from AAA Memphis and inserted him into the lineup against the New York Mets Monday in a makeup game from May 8. Scott’s homer Tuesday traveled 391 feet.
