Milan Puskar Stadium Lighting Upgrade Completed

Milan Puskar Stadium, home of the West Virginia Mountaineers, received a major upgrade this summer.

Aiming to improve the stadium and fan experience, WVU installed state-of-the-art LED lighting. The LED lighting, designed by Musco Lighting, improves on-field visibility with patented glare control technology.

WVU’s game entertainment staff can put on light shows to go along with music or without it before, after and even during the game with Musco’s Total Light Control technology. The entertainment staff will be able to dim and brighten the lights while also having the ability to make them gold and blue.

The new lighting system will also greatly benefit those watching games at home, making for a heightened viewing experience. On top of that, LED lighting also reduces energy consumption compared to standard lighting.

“We are looking forward to debuting the new lighting system to our fans. In comparison to the older, more traditional light bulbs, LED lighting is not only more cost effective, but provides outstanding and bright coverage of the entire field,” West Virginia Vice President and Director of Athletics Wren Baker said in a press release. “Light-to-music synchronization will be a fun addition to our game-day entertainment, and yet another major upgrade to Milan Puskar Stadium.”
