The preseason coaches poll released earlier this afternoon, featuring five teams from the Big 12.

The five Big 12 teams featured were Utah at 13, Kansas State at 17, Oklahoma State at 18, Arizona at 21, and Kansas at 24. West Virginia was one of the five additional Big 12 schools to receive votes, but not enough to make the list. The other schools in that group are Iowa State, UCF, Texas Tech and Colorado.

West Virginia finished the 2023-24 season ranked at #25 on the coaches poll, debuting on the poll after their bowl victory against North Carolina. They were one of three Big 12 schools that week to make the coaches poll after being unranked the week before, joining Kansas and Kansas State after their victories in the Guaranteed Rate Bowl and Pop-Tarts Bowl, respectively.
