MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (July 23, 2024) – The West Virginia University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics has released its 2024 football home game promotional schedule for this fall at Milan Puskar Stadium.
The highly anticipated Coal Rush game will be announced at a later date for one of the following home games; Kansas, Iowa State, Kansas State or Baylor. All fans in attendance will be encouraged to wear black to the game and join the Mountaineers as they debut the new black alternate uniform that pays homage to the state’s rich coal tradition and honor miners who work underground daily to supply energy around the world. The Built on Bravery Collection, that supports the coal-themed uniforms, is available in stores now. Look for more products to be added throughout the fall.
WVU’s annual Hall of Fame weekend game also will be announced at a later date. The selected game will feature a pregame induction ceremony as well as an in-game recognition for the 2024 WVU Sports Hall of Fame class. The pregame induction ceremony will take place in the Caperton Indoor Facility and is free and open to the public.

Stripe the Stadium
The 2024 home opener against Penn State will be the Stripe the Stadium game. Fans sitting in even-numbered sections (Sec. 102, 104, 202, 204, etc.), Touchdown Terrace and WVU students seated in the upper-level student sections are encouraged to wear gold to the game. Fans sitting in odd-numbered sections (Sec. 101, 103, 201, 203, etc.) and WVU students seated in the lower-level student sections are encouraged to wear blue to the game. FOX BIG NOON KICKOFF
The season-opening game and 61st meeting all-time between the two schools on Aug. 31 has been selected by FOX as its BIG NOON SATURDAY game. The BIG NOON KICKOFF pregame show, the biggest pregame party of the weekend, also is coming to Morgantown, and will broadcast live. Fans will have a chance to join Mountaineer Nation on national TV from one of the most exciting campuses in college football, with its exclusive, one-of-a-kind atmosphere. The show provides a preview of the day’s top games in college football, plus detailed analysis on the BIG NOON SATURDAY matchup.
The BIG NOON KICKOFF pregame show will broadcast from the Almost Heaven Village, presented by ReBuilders, located between the Light Blue and the Teal lots, beginning at 10 a.m. with kickoff inside Milan Puskar Stadium at noon.

Gold Rush
The annual Gold Rush game will take place against Albany on Sept. 7. All fans in attendance are encouraged towear gold to the game.
