Former West Virginia forward Taj Thweatt announced his commitment to Fairmont State (DII) Sunday.
Thweatt played at WVU from 2020-2022 under Bob Huggins before entering the transfer portal. While with the Mountaineers he appeared in 12 games, averaging 0.7 points per game. After having to redshirt during the 2022-2023 season due to NCAA transfer rules, the 6-foot-7 New Jersey native played this past season at Temple.
In the 2023-2024 season, Thweatt played in 11 games, averaging 1.5 rebounds and 0.7 points per game. Now, the former three-star recruit will be playing college basketball at the Division II level, just south of Morgantown in Fairmont.
