The former Mountaineer fullback took to X on Tuesday to complain about a certain lager’s name.
Schmitt came across a locally brewed lager that uses the name “Runaway Beer Truck”, but has no affiliation with the former fullback who had the same nickname.
Runaway Beer Truck is produced by Berkeley Springs Brewing Company, located in Berkeley Springs, West Virginia. They have a number of creatively named beers they produce, including Sunnyside Pilsner, Dark Knight, Moāning Lisa and Barrelly Legal.
Mountaineer fans replying to Schmitt expressed their confusion, as they assumed that the beverage was approved by the Runaway Beer Truck himself.
Berkeley Springs Brewing Company does not have an account on X. It is unknown if they have been in contact with Schmitt or have any plans to change the design of the can.
