The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence- and with WVU Football.
West Virginia secured its 18th recruit in the class of 2025 on Sunday, putting the Mountaineers 21st best in recruitments according to 247 Sports and Rivals. As that reputation grows, WVU’s attractiveness grows, as it did for its newest recruit.
6-foot-3, 210-pound linebacker Chris Fileppo previously committed to James Madison in April, but after reevaluating, the rising high school senior visited WVU this weekend. Very shortly after that visit, Fileppo was sold, and he bought into joining WVU’s new-look secondary under defensive back coach ShaDon Brown.
As of now, Fileppo fits in seamlessly at the spear position for WVU but has the speed and athleticism to play significant minutes at free safety if head coach Neal Brown and secondary coach ShaDon Brown desires. Fileppo runs a 10.94-second 100-meter dash and a 22.44-second 200-meter dash.
Fileppo ranks 26th among all Pennsylvania prospects in the class of 2025 and is the eighth best defensive back in the state according to 247 Sports. He is now the sixth 2025 recruit to WVU’s secondary.
