Mountaineer Kole Taylor ranks second among returning Big 12 tight ends this fall

As PFF College continues to release its ratings for the top Big 12 players at each position, WVU’s offense is looking better and better.

PFF College released its ratings for the top 10 returning tight ends in the Big 12 on Tuesday, and WVU senior received high praise. With a rating of 75.5, Taylor ranks as the second best tight end on the list.

Taylor falls directly behind Houston senior Maliq Carr, who will enter the Big 12 this fall after three seasons at Michigan State. Carr dominates PFF College’s ratings, with a score 15 points higher than Taylor at 90.6.

Rising Iowa State sophomore Benjamin Brahmer closely trails Taylor with a rating of 73.2. TCU’s Drake Dabney and Texas Tech tight ends Jalin Conyers and Johncarlos Miller II also earned ratings above 70, with scores of 72, 71.8, and 70.2 respectively.

Kole Taylor caught 35 receptions in 13 games last season with the Mountaineers for 444 yards and four touchdowns. 2023 was Taylor’s first year with West Virginia, as he played the three seasons prior with LSU.
