With the NCAA DI Baseball Tournament selection show on Monday, WVU Baseball is officially heading to Tucson, Arizona for regionals in the Field of 64.
The other regional teams include the host and No. 1 seed Arizona, the No. 2 seed Dallas Baptist and No. 4 seed Grand Canyon. Arizona is the 13th seed overall, they are spending 36-21 in their last season in the Pac 12, before joining West Virginia in the Big 12. The winner of the Tucson Region will take on the winner of the Chapel Hill Region.
The Mountaineers are currently 33-22 on the season, including 19-11 in conference play. Last season West Virginia was the No. 2 seed in the Lexington Region, where they went 1-2, defeating the fourth-seeded Ball State, but losing to the third-seeded Indiana and first-seeded host Kentucky.
The NCAA tournament begins on May 31 and WVU will be matched up against Dallas Baptist to kickoff regionals. Dallas Baptist is 44-13 this season and coming off of a Conference USA championship.
