Top-ranked Oklahoma State transfer guard Javon Small has committed to West Virginia on Wednesday, per Jon Rothenstein.
Small, a 6-foot-3 junior from South Bend, Indiana was the Cowboys’ top-scorer last year, averaging 15.1 points per game this past season, while also leading the team in assists per game with 4.1 to go along with 4.7 rebounds per game. He is ranked as the eighth-best guard and 32nd-best player overall according to On3. He shot 44.1% from the field and 37.4% from three.
Small had a double-double against WVU on Jan. 17 of this year with 15 points and 12 rebounds, he also had seven rebounds and a steal in OSU’s 70-66 win. He scored a season and career-high 29 points against Notre Dame, the team from his hometown, on Nov. 17, 2023. He began his career at East Carolina, where he played two seasons before transferring to Oklahoma State ahead of last season. Small becomes the fifth player to transfer to West Virginia this cycle joining former Illinois teammates Amani Hansberry and Sencire Harris, UIC transfer Toby Okani and Tucker DeVries.
