This past weekend was a successful one for West Virginia men’s basketball, gaining two transfers from the transfer portal.
Now, the Mountaineers have seven officially on their roster for the 2024-2025 season, after last week they lost multiple bodies to the transfer portal.
The two pickups of the weekend came from Sencire Harris and Amani Hansberry.
Harris, is a 6-foot-4 guard who played in 33 games for Illinois last season. He started seven of those 33 games, averaging, 3.7 points, 2.1 rebounds and just under an assist a game. Harris was not the only Illinois transfer to be added by WVU this past weekend though, as the Mountaineer coaching staff also added Amani Hansberry.
Hansberry is a Maryland native, who is a 6-foot-8 forward, also transferring from Illinois. He played in 19 games this past season as a freshman, averaging under eight minutes played per game.
The two additions add to what was a thin roster for West Virginia entering the weekend. Both players took a visit to WVU this past weekend, making it together.
There has now been a total of four additions since Darian DeVries took over as head coach, as KJ Tenner and DeVries’ son, Tucker, are also in the fold.
