West Virginia baseball is no longer in first place in the Big 12 as they were swept by Texas Tech this past weekend in Lubbock.
The Mountaineers were swept 15-2, 6-4, and 3-1, pushing their Big 12 record to 11-7 on the season.
Oklahoma currently sits atop the league at 14-4. The Sooners completed a weekend sweep of BYU, but face Texas this weekend at home. The Longhorns are one of the two teams tied with the Mountaineers for second place. The Longhorns are coming off a series win against TCU, where they took two of three.
Oklahoma State is the third team at 11-7 in league play, losing a conference series to Kansas State this past weekend. The Cowboys host BYU this upcoming weekend.
Right behind WVU, OSU, and UT, is Texas Tech, who is just a 0.5 game behind that group. Kansas State, Kansas, Cincinnati, and Baylor, are all five games back of the top spot in the Big 12, while UCF is then six gamed behind.
TCU, Houston, and BYU, then round out the final three spots.
WVU’s final four series are all against teams in the bottom half of the Big 12. They face Baylor this weekend, and then hit the road to face Cincinnati the next weekend. They then return home to face Kansas State, before ending the season on the road against TCU.
