West Virginia contacts 7-foot transfer center

University of Texas at San Antonio center transfer Carlton Linguard Jr. has heard from WVU, he told The Portal Report.

Linguard is a seven-foot senior, who spent last season at UTSA after transferring from Kansas State. In 32 games played, 27 started this past season he averaged 9.3 points. 6.2 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game, he shot 41.8% from the field and 30.6% from three.

Linguard has also received interest from many other DI schools including power-five programs: Colorado, Louisville, LSU, Missouri, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Texas A&M. With the Mountaineers losing multiple forwards/centers due to graduation and the transfer portal, they look to add height and depth in the post.
