Former West Virginia center Zach Frazier is weeks away from finding his next team in the NFL, as he’s expected to be drafted this month.
Frazier, who has started at WVU since 2020, has caught the attention of many around the NFL world.
Larry Krueger and Brian Baldinger both spoke about Frazier and what they think of him and how he projects out at the next level.
“The guy that really stands out to me when I look at the profile is West Virginia center Zach Frazier. He’s smart, he’s tough, he’s a three-time captain. I watch his film, he’s overwhelming,” Krueger said.
Baldinger, an analyst for NFL Network, then spoke about his conversations with a NFL personnel director and they had a lot of nice things to say about Frazier.
“I said, can Zach Frazier start for you,” Baldinger texted. The response he got was a direct answer, saying, “he goes, right now. March whatever it was, he’s our starting center. Literally texted me back in real time, he could be our starting center.”
Frazier had a special career at WVU, highlighted by the last play of his career. Frazier broke his leg and hobbled off the field against Baylor, as WVU went on a game-winning drive in large part due to Frazier’s unselfishness.
Frazier is from Fairmont, W.Va., and the NFL Draft gets going on April 25.
