Drew Thelwell hears from West Virginia

Morehead State transfer Drew Thelwell has heard from West Virginia, he told The Portal Report.

Thelwell, a junior guard, averaged 10 points, 6.2 assists and three rebounds per game this past season. Last season the 6-foot-3 195-pound product of Orlando averaged 11.1 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game, shooting 38.1% from three. He started in all 68 games for the Eagles from 2022-2024.

Besides the Mountaineers, Thelwell has heard from many Power-5 DI programs including, Iowa, Miami, Michigan, South Carolina, TCU, Virginia Tech, UCF and Wake Forrest. With multiple roster spots open for WVU, they continue to try to pick up players in the portal, having only landed one so far, Tucker DeVries.
