The final AP women’s basketball poll was released Monday and WVU was included.
The Mountaineers were ranked No. 24, after they lost to Iowa in the second round of the NCAA Tournament, ending their season.
WVU was one of six Big 12 teams ranked in the final poll of the season. WVU was an eight seed in the NCAA Tournament, but took Iowa to the wire in the second round of the tournament. Iowa eventually made it to the national championship game, before losing to South Carolina.
WVU is likely to return many pieces from this past year’s team, including All-American JJ Quinerly.
