West Virginia baseball got the brooms out this weekend, heading to Lawrence while sweeping Kansas.
The Mountaineers won game one on Friday, 11-10, game two 4-0, and then game three on Sunday, 16-9.
With the three wins this weekend, WVU moved to 8-4 in Big 12 play this season, tied atop the standings with Oklahoma. However, WVU has the tiebreaker against the Sooners, taking two of three from them.
After West Virginia, there are four teams who are 7-5 in Big 12 play, and two teams that are 8-7. Kansas State, Oklahoma State, Cincinnati, and Texas are 7-5, while UCF and Texas Tech are 8-7.
Cincinnati swept a weekend series over TCU, while Oklahoma State took two of three from Oklahoma. Kansas State lost a series on the road to UCF, while Texas lost a home series to BYU. Texas Tech is the hottest team in the league right now, as they are winners of six straight, sweeping Houston this weekend.
WVU bounced back after losing two out of three to Oklahoma State last week, and they face Marshall on Wednesday. The Mountaineers then return home to face UCF for a three-game series.
