MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (March 28, 2024) – The West Virginia University track and field team will send split squads to the Carnegie Mellon Invitational and the Raleigh Relays this weekend.
The Raleigh Relays are slated for March 29-30, and will be held in Raleigh, North Carolina, at the Paul Derr Track and Field Facility.
West Virginia kicks off the Raleigh Relays at 11 a.m. ET on Friday with the women’s triple jump, followed by the high jump at 2:15 p.m. The Mountaineers will conclude competition on Friday with the women’s 1,500 meters at 4:20 p.m.
On Saturday, WVU will run in the women’s 800 meters at 1:45 p.m., followed by the 400-meter hurdles at 2:35 p.m.
The Carnegie Mellon Invitational is set to take place on March 30, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and is slated to kick off at 10 a.m. West Virginia will take a small group of Mountaineers to compete in the women’s high jump, 200 meters, 400 meters and 800 meters on Saturday.
Last time out, the Mountaineers hosted the Stan Romanoski Open on March 22-23, in Morgantown. The first home meet of the season was highlighted by the mid-distance squad in the women’s 800 meters. Freshman Mary Delaney claimed first in the event with a time of 2:15.29. Freshman Lily Haught also claimed victory in the women’s 400 meters with a time of 59.64.
