Neal Brown gives injury updates and announces who will miss spring ball

West Virginia head coach Neal Brown met with the media as his team is days away from beginning spring practice.

Brown gave multiple injury updates on guys who had offseason surgery or season-ending injuries a year ago, saying who’s in and who’s out for spring football.

Bryce Biggs – Limited

Tomas Rimac- Miss spring, had offseason surgery

Kole Taylor- Limited, no contact

Trey Lathan – Full

Josiah Trotter- Full

Cj Donaldson- Limited

Asani Redwood- Miss spring, back in summer

Oryend Fisher- Miss spring

Jairo Faverus- Miss spring

Spring practice is set to start on Monday for the Mountaineers. Brown said how multiple guys had injuries and surgery that occurred late in 2023. For Trotter, he suffered a season-ending injury last spring, and Brown said he’s excited to see what he brings this year.

“He’s probably as big of a recruit we’e had here. I really believe that he would’ve been a significant factor for us last fall as a true freshman if he didn’t get injured,” Brown said.

Tight end Kole Taylor will be limited, but not participate in any contact drills and won’t be in pads this spring. Donaldson had surgery right before the bowl game and missed the Duke’s Mayo Bowl.
