Bob Huggins says he wants to coach again and doesn’t want to leave West Virginia

In an exclusive interview with Bob Pompeani and CBS Pittsburgh, former West Virginia men’s basketball head coach and hall of famer Bob Huggins was asked about his past and future.

The segment began talking about Huggins’ fundraising efforts in West Virginia such as his Fish Fry that benefits WVU Medicine’s cancer institute. It was also noted that Huggins “Not having a ‘drink’ since last June.”

Pompeani then asked Huggins if he wanted to coach again.

“Yeah, I would. I love working with young people,” Huggins said.”I love to coach, I love to help people.”

Pompeani continued, asking if Huggins’ preference would to coach at West Virginia and if he got an offer elsewhere if he would take it.

“I love West Virginia and the people in West Virginia and I was born and raised here,” Huggins said on if his preference is to coach at WVU again.

“I think in the right situation yeah. I mean I don’t really want to leave West Virginia, but I don’t think I have much of a choice,” Huggins said about taking an offer elsewhere.

Lastly, Pompeani asked if Huggins thinks WVU would give him another chance in the future.

“If there’s a change in leadership, yeah,” Huggins said blatantly.
