Selection Sunday is one day away, and West Virginia women’s basketball is expected to make their second consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance.
Now, the Mountaineers are trying to figure out where they will end up playing.
In the latest ESPN Bracketology update, WVU has not changed locations or opponents.
In their late Saturday night update, WVU was set to head to Raleigh as a No. 6 seed in the tournament and they would face No. 11 Green Bay in the first round. The winner of that game would face the winner of No. 3 NC State/No. 14 Kent State.
WVU finished the last few weeks of the year in a different spot than they started the year. WVU finished 24-7 and 12-6 in Big 12 play, with all seven losses coming to Big 12 opponents. Their worst loss of the season was against Oklahoma State, while their best win was over Big 12 regular season champion Oklahoma.
WVU faced Kansas State twice and played them to the buzzer both times, while they had a chance to beat Baylor in both meetings as well.
WVU is currently one of seven teams from the Big 12 set to make the NCAA Tournament.
