West Virginia is not alone as they search for a head men’s basketball coach.
The Mountaineers are one of many high major college basketball programs searching to find their next leader as Selection Sunday is one day away and a lot of teams set to move on from their head coach are wrapping up their seasons.
Big 12
In the Big 12, there are currently two opening — West Virginia and Oklahoma State. OSU moved on from Mike Boynton earlier this week, as they announced a national search for his replacement.
ACC
Louisville is in the market for a head coach, as they have had a bad couple of years. The Cardinals are still seen as one of the premiere jobs in the country.
Big Ten
Two teams in the Big Ten are looking for a head coach. The first is Ohio State, who let go of Holtmann during the regular season, and the second is Michigan, who moved on from Juwan Howard.
SEC
Vanderbilt has been left behind on the SEC train that is men’s basketball. Jerry Stackhouse was in year five, and finished 9-23 this season.
Pac-12
The Pac-12 is still a conference (for now), and they have two head coaching vacancies. The first is Washington, who let go Mike Hopkins. The second is Stanford, who parted ways with Jerod Haase.
