WVU joined by second Big 12 school with men’s basketball head coaching vacancy

On Wednesday, West Virginia announced they are beginning a national search to find their next head men’s basketball coach.

On Thursday, the Mountaineers were joined by Oklahoma State as Big 12 schools with head coaching vacancies, as the Cowboys parted ways with Boynton, according to Jon Rothstein.

Boynton had been at Oklahoma State since 2017-2018 season, and had a 119-109 record across seven seasons, and they made the NCAA Tournament only one time, in the 2020-2021 season.

OSU and WVU join other power programs Ohio State, Louisville, and DePaul, to not have a head men’s basketball coach.
