Coming off a win in the Big 12 tournament over Cincinnati and a close loss to Kansas State in the quarterfinals, the West Virginia women’s basketball team has moved up a seedline in ESPN’s latest Bracketology.
As of Monday, the Mountaineers are currently the No. 6 seed in the South Bend region, where they’re projected to play No. 11-seed Arizona or Mississippi State. If they advance they’ll play the winner of No. 3 Notre Dame vs. No. 14 Marshall.
WVU is 24-7 this season under first-year head coach Mark Kellogg and with conference tournaments beginning to wrap up, they have a pretty solid idea of where they’re headed to play in March Madness, but could still see their seed change.
Selection Sunday is on March 17, when they’ll know for sure who and where they are playing in the first round of the tournament.
