With a 92-56 loss to Cincinnati on Saturday, the West Virginia men’s basketball team fell to 9-22 on the season, which is the most losses suffered in a season in WVU men’s basketball history.
The Mountaineers were unable to win a game on the road or at neutral sites in 2023-2024 and are yet to achieve double-digit wins with one guaranteed game left (the Big 12 tournament).
West Virginia has only had three 20-loss seasons in history with 2018-2019 seeing the most losses in a season previously, when they had a record of 15-21. The first 20-loss season was in 2001-2022, when WVU was in the Big East and finished 8-20.
The Mountaineers will compete in the first round of the Big 12 tournament in Kansas City on Tuesday.
