The 2024 Big 12 women’s basketball tournament kicks off tomorrow in Kansas City and will run until the championship game on Tuesday, March 12.
The two first round games start on March 7 with No. 12 seed Texas Tech taking on No. 13 seed Houston at 6:30 and then No. 11 seed Cincinnati taking on No. 14 seed UCF at 9:00.
The second round of the tournament begins on Friday, March 8, with No. 5 seed Baylor taking on the winner of Texas Tech and Houston at 12:00.
At 2:30 the No. 8 seed Oklahoma State will take on the No. 9 seed TCU.
No. 7 seed Kansas, led by All-Big 12 first teamers Taiyana Jackson and S’Mya Nichols will take on BYU and All-Big 12 first teamer Lauren Gustin 6:30.
The final game of the day will take place between No. 6 seed West Virginia, lead by Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year and All-Big 12 first teamer JJ Quinerly, and the winner Cincinnati and UCF at 9:00.
The Quarterfinals will start at noon on Monday, March 11, as No. 4 as Iowa State and All-Big 12 first teamer Audi Crooks take on the winner of Baylor and Texas Tech/Houston.
At 2:30 No. 1 seed Oklahoma, led by Big 12 Co-Player of the Year Skylar Van and Big 12 Coach of the year Jennie Baranczyk, takes on the winner of Oklahoma State and TCU.
At 6:30 No. 2 seed Texas and Big 12 Co-Player of the year and Big 12 Freshman of the Year Madison Booker take on the winner of Kansas and BYU.
The final game of the night takes place at 9:00 with No. 3 seed Kansas State and All-Big 12 first teamers Ayoka Lee and Serena Sundell, going against the winner of West Virginia and Cincinnati/UCF.
The Semifinals will be played on Saturday, with the first game taking place at 2:30, and the second game beginning at 5:00. The Big 12 Championship game will be played on Tuesday, March 12, with tip-off set for 9:00.
As for who is expected to win the tournament, ESPN’s Charlie Creme, Alexa Philippou, and Michael Vopel, guessed who they believe will win each conference tournament. As for the Big 12, Creme and Philippou both guessed Texas, while Vopel guessed Oklahoma.
Games for the tournament will be streamed on ESPN+, with the championship on ESPN2.
