Baseball facility to receive new name after Ken Kendricks donation

On Thursday it was announced that WVU Alumni and owner of the Arizona Diamondbacks Ken Kendricks would be making a sizeable. donation to the West Virginia baseball program.

The facility will now be named Kendrick Family Ballpark at the Monongalia County Baseball Complex, with the field name remaining the same, Wagener Field.

Kendricks’ donation will lead to the construction of an 8,200 square feet facility located adjacent to the Mountaineers current clubhouse, which will house two regulation-size pitching lanes, a soft toss area and two full-size batting lanes. The facility will have Trackman Technology to help players and coaches analyze performance and growth. It’s completion date is currently set for February of 2025.

Monongalia Ballpark originally opened in 2015 and can hold up to 3,500 fans, but will now operate under a new name. A ceremony to honor the Kendrick family will be announced at a later date.
