The month of February has passed by in college baseball season and the Big 12 has been pretty solid as we get ready to enter conference play.
In the latest D1 Baseball Top 25 Rankings, the Big 12 has three teams represented in it: TCU at fifth, Texas Tech at 17th, and Texas at 24th.
As of games through March 4, 10 out of the 13 teams are currently at or above .500 on the season. BYU, Oklahoma, and Baylor are three teams that do not have a winning record.
Let’s take a look at each Big 12 team and how they fared in games over the past week. This list is sorted alphabetically.
Baylor (4-7)
Last Wednesday, Baylor lost a single home game against Abilene Christian 6-4. Baylor was down 4-0 then came back to tie it, then Abilene Christian scored two more runs in the ninth to win it.
This past weekend, Baylor swept a three-game home series against Oral Roberts 11-2, 9-3, and 11-7. Baylor has been dealing with some injuries, but they stayed resilient to get blowout wins the first two games and coming back from down two runs to win the third game.
Up next for Baylor is a single home game against No. 20 Dallas Baptist later today. After that is a three-game road series against Houston starting on Friday.
BYU (5-5)
This past weekend, BYU swept a three-game home series against Gonzaga 3-2, 11-2, and 6-4.
Up next for BYU is a single road game against UNLV later today. After that is a three-game road series against West Virginia starting on Thursday.
Cincinnati (7-5)
Last Tuesday, Cincinnati lost a single road game against Xavier 11-9. Cincinnati led 8-2 at one point but it was all Xavier after that.
Last Thursday, Cincinnati won a single home game against Oakland 9-6. Cincinnati never trailed in this one as they rebounded from a loss two days earlier.
The next day, Cincinnati started a four-game home series against Northern Illinois. They took the series 3-1, winning 13-5, 6-5 in seven innings, and 14-1 in seven innings, then lost 6-4.
Up next for Cincinnati is a single home game against Akron tomorrow. After that is a three-game road series against Kansas State starting on Friday.
Houston (7-4)
Last Tuesday, Houston lost a single home game against UTSA 8-7. Houston led 7-2 at one point but surrendered six unanswered runs to lose it.
This past weekend, Houston played in the 2024 Astros Foundation College Classic in Houston. They lost to Texas State 8-7 in 10 innings, to No. 9 Vanderbilt 3-1, and won against Louisiana 13-10 in 11 innings.
Up next for Houston is a single home game against Sam Houston later today. After that is three-game home series against Baylor starting on Friday.
Kansas (7-4)
This past weekend, Kansas hosted a four-game home series against Texas Southern. They swept the series 11-2, 9-1 in seven innings, 10-3, and 11-1 in seven innings.
Up next for Kansas is a three-game home series against No. 5 TCU starting on Friday. After that is a single home game against Missouri next Tuesday, March 12.
Kansas State (7-3)
This past weekend, Kansas State hosted a three-game home series against UMass Lowell. They swept the series 10-1, 17-3, and 10-1.
Up next for Kansas State is a single road game against No. 8 Tennessee later today. After that is a single road game against No. 10 Clemson tomorrow.
Oklahoma (5-5)
This past weekend, Oklahoma played in the Las Vegas College Baseball Classic. They lost to Pitt 19-9 in seven innings, had a game against Cal canceled, then lost to Ohio State 4-3.
Up next for Oklahoma is a single home game against Wichita State later today. After that is a three-game home series against UCF starting on Friday.
Oklahoma State (7-4)
Last Tuesday, Oklahoma State lost a single home game against No. 25 Dallas Baptist 14-4 in seven innings. Dallas Baptist had eight runs in the fourth inning to record the blowout win.
This past weekend, Oklahoma State hosted a three-game home series against Central Michigan. They swept the series 7-4, 8-1, and 19-0.
Up next for Oklahoma State is a two-game home series against Utah Tech starting later today. After that is a three-game home series against Mercer starting on Friday.
No. 5 TCU (13-0)
Last Tuesday, TCU hosted a single home series against Washington State, winning 8-7 in 12 innings. Washington State mounted a four-run comeback in the ninth inning to force extra innings, then TCU had a walk off RBI to win it in the 12th.
Last Wednesday, TCU hosted a single home game against Arizona, winning 6-1. TCU pitched a whopping 19 strikeouts in the win.
This past weekend, TCU played in the Kubota College Classic in Arlington, TX. They won against USC 9-8 in 11 innings, against Arizona State 11-9, and against USC again 9-5.

No. 24 Texas (7-5)
Last Tuesday, Texas won a single home game against St. John’s 15-4. Texas recorded 13 hits in the blowout win.
This past weekend, Texas played in the Astros Foundation College Classic. They lost to No. 3 LSU 6-3, to Texas State 11-10, and to No. 9 Vanderbilt 14-11.
Up next for Texas is a single home game against No. 7 Texas A&M later today. After that is a three-game top 25 road series against No. 17 Texas Tech starting on Friday.
No. 17 Texas Tech (10-2)
This past weekend, Texas Tech hosted a three-game home series against Gardner-Webb. They swept the series 10-7, 29-3, and 9-5.
Up next for Texas Tech is a single road game against New Mexico later today. After that is a three-game top 25 home series against No. 24 Texas starting on Friday.
UCF (8-1)
Last Tuesday, UCF won a single road game against Florida Atlantic 11-6. UCF recorded seven runs in the third inning to propel the way to victory.
This past weekend, UCF hosted a three-game home series against USF. They won the series 2-1, winning 3-2 in 10 innings and 1-0, then losing 7-5.
Up next for UCF is a single road game against No. 4 Florida tomorrow. After that is a three-game road series against Oklahoma starting on Friday.
West Virginia (7-6)
Last Wednesday, West Virginia won a single home game against Canisius 10-3. West Virginia only had weather issues as they recorded eight hits in the win.
This past weekend, West Virginia played a four-game road series against Western Kentucky. They split the series, winning 4-0 and 8-3, then losing 7-6 and 4-3.
Up next for West Virginia is a three-game home series against BYU starting on Thursday. After that is a single neutral site game against Marshall next Tuesday, March 12.
