One game remains in the regular season of Big 12 women’s basketball, and the Big 12 has been one of the best conferences in women’s college basketball this season.
In the latest AP Poll, the Big 12 has five teams represented in it: Texas at third, Kansas State at 15th, Oklahoma at 20th, Baylor at 21st, and West Virginia tied for 24th.
As of games through Feb. 29, 11 out of the 14 teams are sitting at .500 or better, with Cincinnati, Houston, and UCF being the teams that do not have a winning record.
Let’s take a look at each Big 12 team and how they fared in games over the last week as well as what seeds they could be in the Big 12 Tournament. This list is sorted alphabetically.
No. 21 Baylor (22-6, 11-6 Big 12)
Last Saturday, Baylor won a top 25 showdown on the road against No. 22 West Virginia 66-65. Baylor led by as many as 12 points in the fourth quarter before holding off a West Virginia rally for the win.
This past Tuesday, Baylor won a road game against Cincinnati 74-55. Baylor never trailed in this one as they cruised to an easy victory.
Baylor closes out the regular season with a home game against Oklahoma State on Sunday, March 3. Baylor is currently the five seed in the conference and can be as high as the four seed or as low as the seven seed for the Big 12 Tournament.
BYU (16-14, 6-11 Big 12)
Last Saturday, BYU lost a road game against Iowa State 74-49. BYU never led in this one as Iowa State cruised to an easy victory.
This past Wednesday, BYU won a home game against Houston 64-54. BYU never trailed in this one as they took care of business on their home court.
BYU closes out the regular season with a road game against No. 3 Texas tomorrow. BYU is currently the 10 seed in the conference and can be the nine seed for the tournament with a win and a TCU loss this weekend.
Cincinnati (13-15, 5-12 Big 12)
Last Saturday, Cincinnati won a road game against Texas Tech 68-56. Cincinnati only trailed to start out the game as they took care of business on the road.
This past Tuesday, Cincinnati lost a home game against No. 21 Baylor 74-55. Cincinnati never led in this one as Baylor cruised to an easy victory.
Cincinnati closes out the regular season with a road game against Iowa State tomorrow. Cincinnati is currently the 11 seed in the conference and can be as low as the 13 seed for the tournament with a loss and wins by both Texas Tech and Houston this weekend.
Houston (13-15, 4-13 Big 12)
Last Saturday, Houston lost a road game against TCU 59-49. Houston only led in the first quarter as TCU took care of business on their home court.

Iowa State (17-10, 11-6 Big 12)

Kansas (17-11, 10-7 Big 12)

Oklahoma State (14-14, 7-10 Big 12)
Last Saturday, Oklahoma State lost a Bedlam Series on the road against No. 23 Oklahoma 91-56. Oklahoma State only led early in the first quarter as Oklahoma cruised to an easy victory in this one.
This past Tuesday, Oklahoma State won a home game against No. 24 West Virginia 68-61. Oklahoma State only trailed in the first quarter as they held off West Virginia from there.
Oklahoma State closes out the regular season with a road game against No. 21 Baylor on Sunday, March 3. Oklahoma State is locked into the eight seed for the tournament.
TCU (19-9, 6-11 Big 12)
Last Saturday, TCU won a home game against Houston 59-49. TCU only trailed in the first quarter as they took care of business on their home court.

No. 24 West Virginia (22-6, 11-6 Big 12)
