The regular season of college basketball is nearly complete, and the Big 12 continues to make its case as the best conference in college basketball.
In the latest AP Poll, the Big 12 has dropped down to four teams being represented in it: Houston at first, Kansas at seventh, Iowa State at eighth, and Baylor at 15th. The Big 12 also has BYU, Texas Tech, TCU, and Oklahoma receiving votes.
As of games through Feb. 28, eight out of the 14 teams have nine or fewer losses with every team having played at least 27 games. Oklahoma State and West Virginia are the only teams that do not have a winning record.
Let’s take a look at each Big 12 team and how they fared in games over the last week. This list is sorted alphabetically.
No. 15 Baylor (20-8, 9-6 Big 12)
Last Saturday, Baylor lost a top 15 showdown at home against No. 2 Houston 82-76 in overtime. Baylor trailed by 16 at halftime but rallied back to force overtime where they ultimately came up short.
This past Monday, Baylor won a road game against TCU 62-54. TCU kept it close in the first half, then Baylor ran away with it in the second half.
Up next for Baylor is a top 15 showdown at home against No. 7 Kansas on Saturday, March 2. After that is a home game against Texas on Monday, March 4.
BYU (20-8, 8-7 Big 12)
Last Saturday, BYU lost a road game against Kansas State 84-74. BYU never led in this one as Kansas State took care of business on their home court.
This past Tuesday, BYU won a road game against No. 7 Kansas 76-68. BYU trailed by as many as 11 in the second half before rallying back for the upset win.
Up next for BYU is a home game against TCU on Saturday, March 2. After that is a road game against Iowa State on Wednesday, March 6.
Cincinnati (16-12, 5-10 Big 12)
Last Saturday, Cincinnati lost a road game against TCU 75-57. Cincinnati only led in the first half as TCU ran away with it in the second half.
This past Tuesday, Cincinnati lost a road game against No. 1 Houston 67-59. Cincinnati never led in this one as Houston took care of business on their home court.
Up next for Cincinnati is a home game against Kansas State on Saturday, March 2. After that is a road game against Oklahoma on Tuesday, March 5.
No. 1 Houston (25-3, 12-3 Big 12)
Last Saturday, Houston won a top 15 showdown on the road against Baylor 82-76 in overtime. Houston led by 16 at halftime but Baylor rallied back to force overtime where they ultimately came up short.
This past Tuesday, Houston won a home game against Cincinnati 67-59. Houston never trailed in this one as they took care of business on their home court.

No. 8 Iowa State (22-6, 11-4 Big 12)
Last Saturday, Iowa State won a home game against West Virginia 71-64. Iowa State led for much of the game before West Virginia took the lead with roughly nine minutes left in the game, then Iowa State ran away with it from there.
Yesterday, Iowa State won a home game against Oklahoma 58-45. Oklahoma led in the first half, then Iowa State ran away with it in the second half.
Up next for Iowa State is a road game against UCF on Saturday, March 2. After that is a home game against BYU on Wednesday, March 6.
No. 7 Kansas (21-7, 9-6 Big 12)
Last Saturday, Kansas won a home game against Texas 86-67. Kansas only trailed early in the first half as they cruised to an easy victory in this one.
This past Tuesday, Kansas lost a home game against BYU 76-68. Kansas led by as many as 11 in the second half before BYU rallied back for the upset win.

Kansas State (17-11, 7-8 Big 12)

Yesterday, Oklahoma lost a road game against No. 8 Iowa State 58-45. Oklahoma led in the first half, then Iowa State ran away with it in the second half.
