Source: Ryan Nehlen, grandson of former coach Don Nehlen, set to be hired by WVU Football

Ryan Nehlen, the grandson of legendary West Virginia head coach, is set to be hired by West Virginia football as an analyst.

Matt Zenitz of 247Sports reported the news, saying that Nehlen, the current tight ends coach at McNeese State University, is joining Neal Brown’s staff in Morgantown as an analyst.

Nehlen was already an offensive analyst in Morgantown, working under both Brown and Dana Holgorsen, before taking on his current position in July of 2022.

Nehlen is the son of Dan Nehlen and the grandson of Don Nehlen, who is the winningest coach in WVU history. Nehlen joins Blaine Stewart as coaches with significant family ties to the WVU football program.

In. replacing Nehlen at McNeese State, they are expected to hire WVU graduate assistant Ty Hinson.
